What You’ll Do
The STEM Instructional Coach will serve on the Network Academic Team and provide targeted coaching and professional development to teachers for our four schools in Jackson, Mississippi. This role is designed to enhance student achievement by improving teacher effectiveness through 1:1 coaching, professional development, and data-driven instructional planning.

Key Responsibilities
Teacher and Instructional Leader Coaching & Development
- Partner with school leadership teams to provide supplemental 1:1 coaching and support to identified teachers through regular classroom observations, actionable feedback, and instructional modeling.
- Design and facilitate individual and group professional learning aligned to teacher needs and network priorities.
- Coach and support Principals, Assistant Principals, and/or school content leads in advancing our vision for excellent teaching within their schools.
- Support teachers in analyzing student assessment data to inform instruction and ensure scholars are making academic progress.
- Assist in planning and refining instructional strategies to align with RePublic’s academic standards and curriculum.
- Monitor teacher growth and track progress against instructional goals, ensuring measurable improvement in scholar learning outcomes.
- Model effective, research-based instructional strategies in classrooms to demonstrate best practices.
- Provide support for curriculum implementation, differentiation, and scholar engagement strategies.
- Assist teachers in creating rigorous, student-centered learning experiences that promote critical thinking, discourse, and real-world application.
- Partner with school leaders to identify instructional priorities and design school-based coaching plans.
- Lead network-wide training sessions, workshops, and PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) to support teacher growth.
- Foster a collaborative coaching culture by working alongside other instructional leaders, academic specialists, and school leadership teams.
- Support schools in securing and scheduling curriculum training support from external providers to ensure all teachers know how to use network curriculum resources.
A Proven Instructional Leader
- You have 5 years of successful lead teaching experience with a record of driving student achievement.
- You have prior teacher leadership or instructional coaching experience, with a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment, and instructional best practices.
- You analyze student data to inform instruction and ensure that scholars are mastering grade-level content.
- You have experience using data to guide coaching conversations and professional development planning.
- You excel in giving actionable feedback that helps teachers grow and improve their practice.
- You create positive, trusting relationships with teachers and school leaders, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.
- You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and can adapt coaching strategies to meet the needs of different teachers and classrooms.
- Experience in coaching, facilitating professional learning, or leading school-wide academic initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of science, computer science, and/or math instruction.
