The ideal candidate understands manufacturing urgency, supplier communication, material availability, documentation, and cost-conscious purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials and manufacturing needs.
- Request, compare, and analyze supplier quotes to ensure best value and timely availability.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Place purchase orders and monitor order status through delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier performance, and material availability.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and inventory teams to support manufacturing schedules.
- Resolve issues related to quality, delivery, missing materials, incorrect orders, or pricing.
- Purchasing, procurement, buyer, inventory, or supply chain experience required or strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing, industrial, metal fabrication, CNC, or shop environment experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organization skills.
- Ability to compare quotes, track details, and manage multiple priorities.
- Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with vendors and shop teams.
