Position Summary
The Financial Counselor will guide patients through insurance coverage, billing procedures, and available financial assistance options. You will act as a key liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure transparency and resolution in all financial matters related to fertility care.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate patients on insurance benefits, limitations, and expected out-of-pocket expenses
- Interpret and review medical bills, insurance claims, and financial documents for accuracy
- Coordinate with providers and insurers to resolve payment issues and disputes
- Assess eligibility for financial assistance and assist with applications
- Explain billing codes, insurance terminology, and payment obligations to patients
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records for each patient
- Stay current with changes in healthcare insurance policies and billing procedures
Must-Have Qualifications
- Prior healthcare experience (clinic, hospital, or medical office)
- General knowledge of insurance plans and terminology
- Insurance claims and billing experience
- Strong customer service skills – both written and verbal
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience at a fertility or IVF clinic
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of medical billing systems, insurance procedures, and patient finance
