Electric Vehicle (EV) Service Technician

Salary Range: $45,000 to $65,000 annually depending upon experience
As an EV Service Technician, you will serve as a technical expert and brand ambassador, ensuring the peak performance and reliability of customer electric vehicle fleets. You will combine advanced high-voltage technical expertise with a customer-centric approach to lead field operations, train and support partnered Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) and maintain OEM-quality installation and service standards across all customer sites. In this role, you will also be supporting cross-functional business goals while delivering exceptional customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
- End-to-End Vehicle Maintenance: Execute comprehensive diagnostic, repairreplace, and maintenance tasks on all vehicle systems, including high-voltage components such as battery packs, electric motors, inverters, and charging equipment.
- Systematic Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and remote monitoring systems to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on complex electrical, software, and mechanical systems.
- Customer Excellence: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, clearly explaining technical repairs and providing operate and service training to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Field Leadership & Mentorship: Lead on-site service interventions, coordinate with third-party providers, and train junior technicians or apprentices to maintain high quality service standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Manufcturing teams to provide field feedback for product improvements and assist Sales teams with technical demonstrations and business development support.
- Organizational Management: Maintain meticulous service records, manage onlocation parts inventory, create and support service-related product and training documentation, and develop regional service strategies to prioritize customer needs.
- Travel & Field Operations: Travel as required to customer sites, regional hubs, or production plants to provide on-site vehicle support and emergency repairs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of North American commercial automobiles, Electric Vehicle framework is a plus, lithium-ion battery management is a plus, and high-voltage safety protocols is a plus.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to follow logical, step-by-step troubleshooting procedures for integrated hardware and software systems.
- Communication and Documentation: Exceptional verbal and written skills for professional interaction with customers, engineers, and executive stakeholders.
- Self-Management: Highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fastpaced field environment.
- Driving and Certification: Requires valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Valid Commercial Driver’s License is a plus. Additional High Voltage, Service Technician, Automotive certifications are a plus.
