Backend Engineer — Clinical Data & API Integration ( Volunteer Role )
Replenish NutrAI is on a mission to serve the most neglected demographic in healthcare. Over one billion women globally are in menopause, 6,000 reach it every day in the US alone, and most are navigating it with contradictory medical advice, unregulated supplements, and zero tools that connect what they take to what the science actually says. We're changing that.
We have a functional iOS app on TestFlight with this full experience. Our laser MVP, a peer-reviewed chatbot with environmental intelligence and supplement scanning, is launching on World App.

We're looking for a backend engineer to maintain our clinical validation engine and build new data pipelines.

We're looking for a backend engineer to maintain our clinical validation engine and build new data pipelines.
What You'll Be Doing
- Extending and improving a Python-based validation engine that compares supplement products against clinical trial data
- Integrating external health data APIs for drug-supplement interaction checking
- Improving how our system matches product label ingredients to clinical database entries
- Cleaning and normalizing health product data (fixing unit formats, handling edge cases, validating schemas)
- Building API endpoints that our chatbot and frontend consume
- Working with structured health data including dosages, formulations, and published study references
- Python experience (Pydantic, database libraries, environment management)
- Comfortable with PostgreSQL (queries, indexing, working with extensions)
- Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs
- Able to work with data pipelines (pulling, transforming, validating, and storing structured data)
- Comfortable reading and extending existing code rather than building from scratch
- Interest in health tech is a plus but not required
- Experience with vector databases
- Familiarity with Google Sheets API or similar data source integrations
- Any experience with clinical or health-related data
