As a Technical Writer, your responsibilities will include creating, editing, and maintaining consumer-facing user documentation for REP’s entire catalog of industry leading fitness equipment. The scope of work for this role will include the drafting and publishing of user guides, assembly manuals, troubleshooting steps, part replacement instructions, and maintenance/service steps all using step-by-step narration and CAD-generated exploded view reference diagrams. You will write for a variety of audiences, from non-technical end users to skilled maintenance technicians. You must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize your work while working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Compensation base range: $62,500 - $75,000 annually

Essential Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work collaboratively with product managers, product marketing, engineers, customer service, and legal to produce and maintain world-class product documentation. Document drafting and revision scope will include user guides, Assembly Instructions, troubleshooting and maintenance guidelines, part replacement instructions, all with exploded-view reference diagrams and narrative instruction.
- Thinking like a customer to create easy-to-follow instruction manuals for our products to ensure seamless and hassle-free assembly.
- Coordinate cross-functional review of new documentation with Senior Technical Writer and other critical stakeholders.
- Efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on published content from both customers and internal support representatives to revise existing documentation based on the needs of both internal and external audiences.
- Meet critical deadlines to support new product launches and represent Tech Docs as a critical stakeholder in the new product introduction process and throughout product development.
- Occasional assembly and disassembly of heavy gym equipment to diagnose troubleshooting issues, provide user-centric feedback to new product development engineers, and to instruct customer service associates on product assembly and troubleshooting procedures.
- 0-10%. Travel for this role will be minimal, but opportunity may arise to travel to REP owned facilities elsewhere in the US for the purpose of cross-training or product rework.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Educational or practical experience in popular graphic arts software, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.
- Familiarity or prior experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Composer, or other industry-standard CAD or 3D modeling software.
- Comfortable communicating with various teammates and stakeholders across the organization via Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn and incorporate AI tools as appropriate or necessary to support the primary functions of the Technical Documentation team.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred
- 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training preferred
- Expert level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
- Experience in SolidWorks Composer
- Experience in Microsoft Suite required
