What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist position at Renue Plastic Surgery?
Renue Plastic Surgery is a busy plastic surgery practice seeking an energetic, hardworking surgical technologist to assist surgeons with surgeries in operating room, minor procedures room and office settings. This position will also work in the office setting including preparing for consultations and procedures, intake and EMR documentation, as well as dressing changes and suture removal. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and grow with the position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures exam rooms, operating room and procedure rooms are adequately stocked
- Prepare and organize the room, equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for office visits and surgical procedures
- Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain the sterile field for the patient during procedures
- Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure
- Take care of specimens
- Performs intake of patient information and accurately enters documentation in patient's electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with dressings and suture removal
- Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies
- Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines
- Participate in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis
- Other duties as required
Qualifications for Surgical Technologist
- Graduation from a surgical technologist program
- 1-2 years of experience working as a surgical technologist preferred
- Current Basic Life Support certificate required (provided post-hire, if needed)
- Possess the tact to deal effectively with patients, physicians and co-workers.
