Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and service-oriented Pharmacist Intern in their third year of pharmacy school to join our team at a locally owned independent pharmacy. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of community pharmacy practice, with a strong focus on patient care, medication counseling, and personalized service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in filling and verifying prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls, assisting walk-in patients, and resolving prescription-related issues under pharmacist supervision.
Participate in patient education, including medication counseling, adherence discussions, and over-the-counter product recommendations.
Support day-to-day operations, including inventory control, ordering, checking in deliveries, and managing expired stock.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Learn and adhere to all applicable laws, standards, and store policies governing pharmacy practice.
Assist with immunizations, health screenings, or wellness programs where permitted and under supervision.
Contribute to the unique, patient-first culture of an independent pharmacy setting.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in the third year of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
Holds a valid pharmacy intern license in [State], if required.
