Job Summary
This role will strategically manage/support assigned spend categories and support activities, such as opportunity identification, cost reduction, process improvement, sourcing, competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting, vendor management, and more.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide data analytical support for identification of procurement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process improvement, and improved supplier performance both in support of the Senior and Procurement Manager as well as to support their own projects.
- Develop and manage category and vendor strategies to meet the relevant categories financial and service objectives
- Lead or support competitive bid initiatives, including proposal evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management
- Lead negotiations to deliver the objectives set out in the sourcing strategies (or agreed with stakeholders) ensuring full optimization of the organisational spending power and ensuring the engagement and buy-in from senior stakeholders ( finance, legal, HR and operations) to ensure full alignment of the organisation
- Define relevant metrics and KPI’s to ensure project objectives are fully met and in support of service and contractual management of certain contracts and relationships
Required Experience
- Procurement (or relevant) experience of over 1-3 years required
- RFx process management experience
- Project/Product management experience
- Experience with procurement best practices and a successful track record in Procurement, managing related spend in a corporate environment preferred
- Strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives while meeting objectives and deadlines
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Effective communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
- Detail-oriented: Able to review and produce accurate, professional, and error-free analyses in a timely manner
- Proven ability to lead, build trust and be highly credible across all levels of the organization.
- Work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees
- Be organized and have strong time management skills with an ability to prioritize workload.
- Read, write and comprehend written and spoken English to communicate effectively and professionally
- Use active listening skills
- Team-oriented approach and outlook
- Display strong presentation and communication skills, written and verbal
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field
