Sanitation Worker

1.0 POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Sanitation Technician position is to provide timely, efficient, and effective cleaning to the Company’s inventory of machinery and vehicles. This is a key component of providing the clients with the best and most favorable customer experience and satisfaction. The position is responsible for getting all machinery in clean working order as expeditiously as possible and for said machinery to be available for rent as soon as possible. This job includes conducting routine cleaning to ensure the machinery looks good for clients. The company is dependent on having its inventory of machinery available at a moment’s notice, and this is the position that drives that objective. Bottom line, the timely cleaning of all machinery and vehicles is a key component of attaining an outstanding customer experience for our clients.

1.1. The Sanitation Technician reports directly to the Service Manager

2.0 REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Licensing, Registration and Certifications

2.2.1 Required: A valid drivers’ license

2.3 Experience

2.3.1 Preferred: Competency in operating equipment and tools normally used in construction equipment rental stores. Operation of Pressure washer.

2.4 Skill, Knowledge and Abilities

2.4.1 Working knowledge of how to operate a pressure washer and heavy duty cleaners. Able to learn how to move heavy machinery in company inventory.

2.4.2 Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions.

2.4.3 Complete knowledge and ability to use all tools utilized or necessary for cleaning and washing equipment. Utilizing shovels, water cannons, high pressure washers, ect.

2.4.4 Knowledge of how heavy duty cleaners work on different types of material. Not using Brown Stuff on aluminum, not allowing Brown Stuff to dry before washing off. It is best to only treat and area big enough to wash before it dries. If any questions, ask your supervisor

2.4.5 Excellent communications skills…. both verbal and written communication skills

2.5 Physical

2.5.1 Body Positions: The position walks and stands for long periods of time; work might require climbing on and working under machinery; twisting and turning of the torso might be necessary at times. Being able to use tools/shovels to remove heavy mud from tracks, ect.

2.5.2 Body Movements: The position requires good manual dexterity and flexibility.

2.5.3 Strength: The position lifts heavy objects up to 70 pounds without assistance. The employee might be required to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. The employee must have excellent stamina as they might be standing for long periods of time.

2.6 Mental

2.6.1 Language – Speaking, reading and writing in English is required; ability to communicate well both verbal and written

2.6.2 Mechanical – Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.

3 WORKING CONDITIONS

3.1 Climate – Work is primarily performed in outdoor setting; some work

might be performed inside when inclement weather or too cold.

3.2 Travel – Regular work is typically at the Maintenance shop at the main office location

3.3 Hours – Regular work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a required 15-minute break at 9:00 a.m. and 3 pm. A 30-minute lunch break at 12:00 p.m. Summer Sat Hours 7-12 noon on a rotational basis

4 AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 Maintain cleanliness in and on all machinery.

4.2 Ensure all cleaning is done efficiently, correctly, and on time

5 DUTIES AND TASKS

5.1 Wash Equipment that gets dropped in return area.

5.2 Clean Cabs, removing all trash, wiping down plastics, consoles ect.

Wash cab windows.

5.3 Move equipment off wash pad to service area.

5.4 Keep wash pad cleaned

5.5 If any damages or issues are noticed. Inform Service manager promptly so parts and repairs may be initiated.

5.6 Keep the work environment in a clean state as it enhances morale for yourself and other employees to have a clean work area, a clean area also provides a safer work environment; a clean facility provides a good impression to any customers who happen to view it.

5.7 When all equipment is clean or if weather conditions are such that it’s not feasible to wash, report to service manager for any duties he may have for you. He may have you work in the shop on maintenance or repairs, organizing of tools or cleaning work areas. A willingness to be helpful in whatever capacity you are able to is a way to grow within the company.

6 MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE

6.1 Cleaning done and completed properly according to schedule.

6.2 Annual review by the Service Manager

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 52.0 per week
