Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Apprentice to join our dynamic construction team. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced carpenters to learn the trade, assist with various construction tasks, and gain hands-on experience in building, remodeling, and restoration projects. Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters in constructing, installing, repairing, and remodeling structures using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood framing, siding, drywall, trim, cabinets, fixtures, and other wood construction materials.
- Operate woodworking machines safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols related to power tool use and power tool safety standards.
- Support rebar installation, plastering, caulking, metal stud framing, drywall finishing, and mold remediation tasks as needed.
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling on construction sites while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Participate in site cleanup, material organization, and preparation for subsequent phases of construction or restoration projects.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and woodworking.
- Prior construction or remodeling experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on construction sites in various conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Demonstrated interest in residential carpentry, trim carpentry, cabinetry installation or restoration industry experience is a plus.
- Commitment to safety practices including power tool safety standards and proper handling of construction materials.
