Position Overview:
As an AV Technician at Rent for Event, you will play a crucial role in live event productions. Depending on your specialty, responsibilities will include setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting systems to ensure seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audio Engineer (A1): Manage audio setup, FOH mixing, and operation of professional sound systems, including digital/analog consoles (Yamaha, Midas, Allen & Heath), speaker systems (QSC, JBL, L-Acoustics), and wireless microphone coordination.
- Lighting Engineer (L1): Program and operate lighting systems using GrandMA and Chamsys consoles, manage DMX configurations, and execute lighting designs for live events.
- Video Engineer (V1): Operate and troubleshoot video equipment, including LED walls, video switchers, media servers (Resolume Arena, Blackmagic, Novastar), and ensure high-quality visual outputs.
- General AV Technician (GAV): Support all AV disciplines, assist in event setup/breakdown, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure efficient operation of AV equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficiency with industry-standard AV equipment and software.
- Live event production experience.
- Ability to lift and transport heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by events.
- Must be a team player with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and understand and meet client needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client, vendor, and team interactions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in the AV industry.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative.
- Must have experience working with an AV company.
