What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Service Technician position at Rent-2-Own?
The General Service Technician will be expected to work well in a team environment. S/he will work closely with other Managers and peers throughout the Rent-2-Own workplace. In both the technical and administrative areas, this person must be able to deal with situations and problems where formal resources are not available or directly applicable.
The ideal candidate:
• Possess knowledge of cell phone repair, tablets, laptops, televisions, gaming, and other small electronics.
• In addition, General IT knowledge, provide support, and have the ability to conduct hardware repair
• General Repair and troubleshooting on Appliances and general household goods a plus
• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring service performance.
• Accurately document service issues and providing urgent follow up
• Assist stores with related issues in a professional and timely manner
Job Requirements
• Satisfactory work record and attendance.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Willingness to work as a "Team Player"
• Valid State motor vehicle operator's license with evidence of safety and insurability within the guidelines of the insurer.
• Ability to convey a positive and professional image to customers and employees.
• Strong verbal communication, problem solving skills, writing, organizational, computer, internet, and phone skills.
• Willingness to work within the policies, procedures, collections laws, and ethics established by the Company
• Able to properly lift and repetitively maneuver all store products and equipment including but not limited to household furniture, appliances and electronics by using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques.
• The ability to maintain and organize computer and paper files.
• Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle all types of monetary transactions, as well as other company assets such as equipment and vehicles in a safe, responsible and sensible manner.
