Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Discovery at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy, NY. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for conducting computational research in materials discovery, preparing research reports, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role also includes mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
- Proficient in computational modeling in materials discovery
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Experience in preparing research reports and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Effective communication and mentoring abilities
- Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
- Expertise in electronic structure calculations
- Experience using machine learning for research is a plus
- Experience with studies of materials with magnetic or topological properties is a plus
