About the Internship:
The Rensselaer County Regional Chamber is looking for a student majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or Business Administration for a summer internship. This position will work with the Marketing department and under the supervision of the Vice President assisting in maintaining active social media accounts, creating graphics, copy-writing, program planning, content creation, video editing and general website maintenance. This is a paid OR for credit internship requiring 15-20hrs per week in person, at $16.00 - $18.00 per hour if paid or fulfilling a credit bearing course at your College or University.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the marketing department with maintaining active social media accounts.
- Assist with the creation of social media graphics using Canva that adhere to brand guidelines.
- Support email marketing campaigns using HubSpot to communicate Chamber news and events.
- Assist with copywriting for emails and social media posts.
- Assist with creating content for events and member services in a way that is clear, concise, and consistent.
- Update website content when necessary.
- Assist with planning and executing Chamber events.
- Basic video/audio editing in adobe or equivalent program.
- Maintain consistent communication with the marketing department, Vice President to ensure work is being done to organizational standards.
- Ability to attend Chamber events as needed.
Required qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business Administration or similar major.
- Able to commit to 15-20hrs per week.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic video/audio editing skills.
- Basic website editing skills.
- Strong writing skills (grammar, punctuation, and overall message).
- Coachable and strong-work ethic.
- Works well as a member of a team.
- Self starter who works well individually.
- Experience in Canva or equivalent graphic design platform.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred qualifications:
· Ability to think strategically and anticipate the needs of the organization.
· Ability to think independently and make decisive sound decisions.
· Advanced video/audio editing skills.
· Advanced website editing skills.
· Hubspot CRM and website management experience.
· Previous internship experience with a non profit or Chamber of Commerce.
