Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with disorders impacting eye movement and positioning. Administers therapy, prepares reports, and confers with physicians regarding patients’ needs and progress. |

Under the direction of an Ophthalmologist, diagnoses and treats ocular motility or eye muscular disorders, such as amblyopia, diplopia, or strabismus. Assesses patients and determines course of treatment. Provides non-surgical treatment through the use of eye patches or exercises and assists the Ophthalmologist in planning and performing more invasive corrections. Tracks patient treatment and reports on progress. Experience and Education: Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor
