What You'll Do
As an Acute Care Technician, you'll help deliver exceptional care by supporting patients and the clinical team throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include:
- Provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
- Obtain, document, and communicate vital signs and patient observations accurately and promptly.
- Safely transport patients and equipment throughout the hospital.
- Support patient mobility and comfort while following safe patient handling practices.
- Monitor patients on safety precautions and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Assist nurses and physicians with patient care procedures and other clinical tasks.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care environment by ordering supplies, stocking equipment, and ensuring proper decontamination.
- Complete documentation and clerical responsibilities that support quality patient care from admission through discharge.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by treating every patient and family member with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
- Medical terminology is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or in a direct patient care role is preferred.
Licensure
- State of Nevada or Nationally Registered Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) certification is required at the time of hire.
- Dual State and National EMT certification is preferred.
- Candidates holding an Advanced EMT certification may remain in that classification for up to 60 days while awaiting placement into an available Advanced EMT role.
Certifications
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Computer Skills
- Ability to obtain the computer skills necessary within 90 days of hire to complete required learning modules, documentation, and organizational systems.
