Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Director–Mobile Hybrid Power Generation to lead our commercial expansion across the United States. This role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies for Renon’s mobile energy storage and hybrid generator solutions, targeting key customer segments including equipment rental companies, EPCs, construction contractors, utilities, telecom providers, and event production firms. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the mobile power generation and/or battery energy storage industry, with a proven track record of scaling market share and managing strategic accounts in the North American market.
Key Responsibilities
· Market Leadership: Lead the sales strategy and channel expansion for Renon’s mobile hybrid power solutions—including battery energy storage systems (BESS), hybrid generator-BESS integrated units, and modular power products—across the U.S. market, with a focus on scaling market share in the equipment rental and industrial power sectors.
· Strategic Partnerships: Develop and execute sales strategies for designated regions (e.g., US West, US East, or Pan-US) or client segments (e.g., national rental companies, EPCs, data centers, utilities, telecom) based on market trends and competitive landscape. Set and achieve annual sales targets, including booking, revenue, and gross margin goals.
· Key Account Management and Expansion: Directly manage 5-10 key strategic accounts, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Drive market penetration among the top 20 target customers, converting sales opportunities into long-term fleet adoption.
· Channel Development: Build and manage a robust distribution and dealer network across the U.S., leveraging relationships with equipment rental houses, industrial distributors, and power solution providers. Develop channel partner programs to accelerate market coverage and customer acquisition.
· Sales Leadership: Lead contract negotiations, manage pricing strategy, track payment collection, and ensure seamless execution of project milestones from proposal through deployment.
· Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing sales team of 3-5 professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and performance. Set individual and team goals, provide coaching and development, and optimize team structure to maximize sales output.
· Brand Leadership: Collaborate closely with marketing teams to elevate Renon’s brand visibility at key industry events including trade shows (e.g., PowerGen, CONEXPO-CON/AGG, The ARA Show), seminars, and customer training programs.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and product roadmaps, and to support successful project implementations.
· Market Intelligence: Monitor regulatory trends including IRA incentives, state-level energy storage mandates, and grid interconnection standards that impact the mobile power and energy storage market. Provide actionable insights to leadership on competitive dynamics and emerging opportunities.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Business, Marketing, or related fields.
· 8 years of experience in sales and business development within the mobile power generation, portable generator, battery energy storage, or power rental industries.
· Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar capital equipment sales cycles and closing large-scale fleet or project-based deals.
· Deep understanding of the North American mobile power and energy storage market, with established networks in equipment rental companies, EPCs, construction contractors, utilities, and/or telecom providers.
· Strong knowledge of hybrid power systems, battery energy storage technologies, and the value proposition of generator-BESS integration.
· Exceptional negotiation, project management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
· Fluent in English (Spanish proficiency is a plus).
· Data-driven, results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
· Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous leadership experience with a prominent mobile generator manufacturer, BESS manufacturer, power rental company, or industrial distributor in North America.
· Experience selling into the equipment rental channel, with established relationships at national and regional rental companies.
· Knowledge of government incentive programs (e.g., U.S. IRA, SGIP, state-level energy storage mandates) and their application to mobile power solutions.
· Familiarity with CSA/UL certifications (e.g., UL 9540) and regulatory requirements for mobile energy storage systems in the U.S. and Canada.
· Experience with remote monitoring and energy management platforms for distributed energy assets.
