Maintenance Worker II

Position Summary: This position will perform a variety of tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and minor construction of RSIC buildings, residences, facilities, infrastructure and open space, using carpentry, mechanical, and painting skills.

Duties:

• Perform carpentry assignments including concrete, forms work, and fencing.
• repair and maintain drainage structures, bridges and culverts.
• operate saws, hand tools, and other job-related equipment;
• operate light to heavy trucks and other equipment including tractors, dump trucks, excavators, graders, backhoes and snow removal machinery;
• perform landscape construction, sprinkler systems, and grounds maintenance;
• perform basic mechanical maintenance on pumps, valves, and motors;
• assist in the repair and maintenance of streets, sewer systems, manholes, and pavements;
• perform maintenance and repair work on electrical systems including air conditioning and ventilating equipment;
• assist with framing, sheet rocking, paneling, and flooring;
• assist with painting, spraying, finishing, and other woodworking;
• assist with installation of cabinets, shelves, counters, doors, and other hardware;
• knowledge of basic electrical work; and
• perform other duties as assigned, including maintenance and cleaning of shop area and yard.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or G.E.D certificate at time of hire;
• A valid Nevada Driver License and eligibility for the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program;
• ability to perform consistent and extended physical work including bending, stooping, lifting, pulling, and other activities in a variety of environmental conditions;
• ability to successfully communicate in English both verbally and in writing;
• at least four (4) years of prior experience performing basic maintenance and construction work or a combination of equivalent education and experience; and
• ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR certification within one (1) year of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.05 - $24.66 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
