Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role based in Reno, NV. The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing company vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, completing scheduled service work, and responding to unexpected mechanical issues. The role involves identifying and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, ordering or requesting necessary parts, and documenting all work performed. The Mechanic collaborates with drivers and operations staff to prioritize repairs, adheres to safety protocols, and helps maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with Heavy Equipment in a transportation or construction setting.
- Proficient Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
- Knowledge of standard tools, shop equipment, and repair techniques.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations related to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical documents, and work orders.
- Prior experience as a mechanic, technician, or similar role in a fleet or heavy equipment environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology is a plus.
- Capability to work on-site, manage physical tasks, and collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
