At ROC, we strive to restore mobility and improve the quality of life for our patients. You'll work closely with our surgeons and medical staff in well-equipped operating rooms. This role offers a chance to be part of our expanding team with new operating suites opening soon.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of case carts according to surgeon preference cards and surgery schedules;
- Providing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during orthopedic procedures;
- Maintaining strict sterile technique to prevent infection;
- Assisting with instrument care, equipment maintenance, and ensuring readiness of the operating room;
- Participating in instrument counts and sterile field establishment;
- Assisting in cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments;
- Monitoring supply usage and assisting with inventory control;
- Providing patient transfer assistance when needed.
Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required;
- Certificate or Associate degree in Surgical Technology, or equivalent experience as a surgical technologist;
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures, particularly orthopedic surgeries;
- Proficiency with surgical instrumentation and sterile processing;
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology;
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an orthopedic surgical technologist;
- Ability to work independently and adapt to variable schedules as a Per Diem staff member.
