Position Overview
We are seeking Medical Assistants to join our Veteran Support Services team in Central Reno, NV. This role offers a unique opportunity to serve Veterans by conducting structured disability interviews and supporting medical providers in a private, community-based clinic.
Reno Family Medical Group is a low-cost concierge clinic that offers Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Veteran Disability services. This position is in our Willow Clinic, located off of Wells Avenue and Mill Street.
The ideal candidate will combine strong interviewing skills, a warm and welcoming personality, good time management, and meticulous charting ability. This position is admin-heavy, so comfort sitting and typing for long hours is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structured interviews with Veterans undergoing disability assessments, ensuring accuracy and sensitivity, and preparing them for success with the Medical Examiner.
- Prepare charts by finding relevant records.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including vital signs.
- Manage patient flow and scheduling to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and participate in problem-solving.
- Uphold safety protocols and provide compassionate patient service throughout the care process.
Qualifications
- Required: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- High School diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Certification.
- Preferred:
- Strong interviewing and communication skills, with proven ability to elicit accurate patient information.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EHR systems and medical charting; ability to manage repetitive computer-based tasks with accuracy.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Medical Spanish Translator Certification is a plus.
