What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Licensed Adjunctive Therapist (CRTS/OT/DANCE/MUSIC/OR ART THER position at Reno Behavioral Healthcare Hospital?
The Adjunctive Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and conducting therapy programs. Instructs or supervises patients in recreational activities as part of a therapeutic psychiatric treatment program.
This position will work four 10 hour days.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and direct therapeutic recreational programs and activities for patients.
- Develop treatment plan to meet needs of patient, based on needs assessment, patient interests and objectives of therapy.
- Conduct therapy sessions to improve patients’ mental and physical well-being.
- Observe, analyze, and record patients’ participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed.
- Document patient’s progress or regression during their activities.
- Counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities.
- Instruct patients in activities and techniques, such as sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques, designed to meet their specific physical or psychological needs.
- Encourage patients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in healthy leisure activities.
- Serves as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team that consults with other health care professionals in determining a total treatment plan and recommend changes based on individual observations and evaluations.
- Keeps current on therapeutic resources available to best help the patients.
- Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.

Education/Licensure
- Bachelors in Fitness, Art, or related field
- Licensed CRTS/ART therapy/Dance therapy/Music Therapy/Occupational Therapy is required
- All direct patient care staff will be trained in BLS (CPR), which must be renewed every 2 years.
- All staff, both clinical and non-clinical, will be trained in CPI as part of their orientation. All direct patient care staff will be retrained every year.
Knowledge and Experience:
- One (1) year experience of inpatient adjunctive therapy
- Basic knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
- Knowledge of assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
