The Advanced Technology Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing complex technology solutions for advanced propulsion system designs for military ground combat vehicles and technology demonstration programs. The Advanced Technology Engineer reports to the Director of Strategic Technology and requires deep technical expertise and a strong ability to lead projects, while collaborating effectively with other teams domestically and internationally to drive successful outcomes.

The Advanced Technology Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing complex technology solutions for advanced propulsion system designs for military ground combat vehicles and technology demonstration programs. The Advanced Technology Engineer reports to the Director of Strategic Technology and requires deep technical expertise and a strong ability to lead projects, while collaborating effectively with other teams domestically and internationally to drive successful outcomes.
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced technology solutions, providing technical guidance and expertise to team members.
- Drive innovation by researching and applying new technologies and methodologies to enhance our products and systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Program Management, Engine and Transmission engineering, Test engineering, customers and suppliers to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, offering solutions that improve system functionality and performance.
- Develop and implement best practices for complex technology, development, testing and deployment.
- Perform Applications Engineering of RAM Engines, Transmissions, and Motor-Generator systems, including analysis, integration, and performance evaluation in combat vehicle applications.
- Oversee development activities including bench, dynamometer, and vehicle level testing.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis investigations on advanced technology solutions.
- Make improvements in processes, systems, or products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or similar Engineering field from an accredited university required with minimum 6 years of relevant experience (Senior), minimum 9 years of relevant experience (Lead).
- Knowledge of propulsion systems (Engines, Transmissions, Drivetrain, Motor-Generators) and components such as gears, shafts, pumps, and bearings.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to participate in and lead failure analysis investigations.
- GD&T knowledge, including the ability to create and read machining and assembly prints
- Creo or other CAD modeling software experience.
- Ability to make technical decisions, complete assignments within budget and schedule, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple project tasks to meet established deadlines, including tracking metrics and reporting status of engineering activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Must be willing to travel (domestic and foreign) up to 10%.
- Must be able to move freely, with or without reasonable accommodation, throughout a manufacturing environment.
- Must be capable of obtaining a DOD security clearance and a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Previous experience with the integration of Drivetrain systems (engine, transmission, cooling, air filtration, Final Drive/Reduction Gearbox, Motor-Generator) in military or off-road commercial vehicles.
- Previous experience with Engine or Transmission subsystems and applications.
- Master of Science (MS) Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or similar Engineering field
- Systems engineering experience
- Hybrid propulsion system experience
- Fluent in German or French a plus
- Proficiency engineering software such as ANSYS, MASTA, MATLAB Simulink, GT Suite, LabView
- Experience in an aerospace/military development environment featuring complex assembly, and product test.
