Printing Press Operator Job Description:
The Printing Press Operator is responsible for setting up the press correctly to run jobs and maintaining a smooth operation of the press.
Expectations:
- Proficient in math and units of measurement
- Set up, control press and console operations
- Knowledge of color theory, common printing issues and troubleshooting
- A high personal standard of quality
- Responsible for performing machine make ready, achieving run speed standards, productivity efficiencies, and more importantly, achieving customer requirements and quality standards
- Good understanding of pre-press functions.
- Monitors the product for quality while minimizing waste and rework
- Ability to interact with team members in a professional manner
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team
- Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry up to as much as 60 pounds occasionally
- Able to work in a fast pace, high pressure environment
· Organization, prioritization, and time management skills
· Eagerness to work and learn, and comfortably handling a variety of responsibilities as they arise
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow work instructions on job ticket
- Verify paper type/other document specifications
- Monitor quality of product being produced
- Deliver product to next routing area
- Replace toner when necessary.
- Adjust settings on computer software for press specifications and quality needs
· Highly detail oriented with critical degree of accuracy
· Must thrive in a deadline-driven work environment
· Notify management of any conditions that adversely affect product quality
· Learn color registration
· Responsible for general maintenance and housekeeping
· Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
