What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Therapist position at Renewed Light Mental Health Center?
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our primary mental health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The Therapist will provide individual counseling, facilitate group therapy sessions, and assist with client intakes. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting clients in their recovery journey and be comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Schedule: FT position, need to have some evening group availability (5:30pm - 8:30pm) and some Saturday's 10:00am - 1:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counseling sessions to clients enrolled in the IOP program.
- Facilitate therapeutic group sessions focused on mental health, coping strategies, and recovery.
- Assist with intake assessments, including gathering clinical history, evaluating client needs, and developing treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards of care at all times.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related field.
- Active license in the state of NJ as an LSW, LAC, or LAMFT (required).
- Experience working in a behavioral health or mental health treatment setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in individual and group therapy facilitation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
