Since 1925, Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has been committed to providing high-quality wastewater treatment services to the Upstate of South Carolina while promoting a cleaner environment, protecting public health and the water quality of Upstate waterways, and developing the necessary sewer infrastructure to sustain our community and growing economy. With nine water resource recovery facilities and more than 350 miles of pipe, we serve a broad geographic area, including Greenville County and portions of Anderson, Laurens, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties. Each day an estimated 42 million gallons of water passes through our trunk lines and reclamation facilities before being cleaned and returned to our area rivers and streams.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to operate biosolids dewatering equipment, and to perform related unskilled work and manual labor as required. This position works according to set procedures under close supervision.

Basic Requirements:

· Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.

· Must possess a valid Class “B” CDL driver’s license with tanker endorsement within two (2) years of employment.

· Must possess or obtain within two (2) years from date of hire a S.C. Position “D” Biological Wastewater Operator certification.

About the Job:

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

· Operates various types of solids dewatering equipment in coordination with the needs of WRRFs.

· Collects, analyzes, and records process control samples to optimize equipment performance.

· Operates polymer feed systems for various types of dewatering equipment.

· Maintains inventory of supplies used for reporting to supervisor.

· Properly loads sludge and liquids onto trucks.

· Operates dump trucks, tractor trailers, tanker trucks to transport biosolids to appropriate inner-plant disposal sites.

· Performs service and first-echelon maintenance on all dewatering equipment.

· Transports, sets up, operates, and performs service and first-echelon maintenance upon the following additional equipment to perform essential functions of the job under both standard and emergency response scenarios during storm events and major repair operations: mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) pumps, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) solids loading towers, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) generators, mobile (permanent trailer-mounted) light towers.

· Operates mobile dewatering equipment for WRRF needs or other projects.

· Collects biosolids for laboratory analysis.

· Performs routine analytical and equipment tests as required and records results.

· Operates, transports and preforms service and first-echelon maintenance on articulating rubber-tired loaders, pumps, straight dump truck (up to 20-ton capacity), tractor/trailer dump, tractor/trailer tanker, mobile fuel pods, and septic tank truck.

· Enters data into database and generates required reports.

· Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of work performed.

· Inspects equipment for proper and safe working condition.

· Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.

· Receives and responds to inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance in areas of responsibility.

· Provides equipment operation for emergency incidents related to the plants or collection system.

· Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.

· Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.
