Office Administrative Assistant - Construction/Solar Location: Western Suburbs of ChicagoEmployment Type: Full-Time Position OverviewOur client is seeking a highly organized, proactive Office Assistant to support daily operations and help keep our team running smoothly. This role will begin remote and transition into a in-office position. This person will work closely with the President, assist with customer communication and scheduling, help maintain operational organization, and occasionally join sales appointments to learn the solar sales cycle and support the process. Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Operational SupportManage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for leadership and sales staffMaintain organization across files, documents, customer records, and ongoing projectsAssist with administrative tasks, communication tracking, and internal coordinationSupport daily office operations and ensure tasks and deadlines are metCustomer Service & Sales SupportHandle inbound customer inquiries with a friendly, professional toneAssist with appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and keeping customers informedEngage in light sales support, such as providing information and preparing materialsJoin occasional customer appointments to shadow and understand the sales processCommercial & Residential Solar SupportAssist with preparing commercial solar presentations (Energy Toolbase, Helioscope, and other software—training provided)Help gather information to determine financing options (Cash, Capital Lease, PPA, etc.)Coordinate with customers in ComEd, Ameren, and cooperative territoriesSupport both residential and commercial projects as needed Qualifications Required:1 years of experience in construction, solar, or a related field (office, coordination, or customer-facing roles preferred)Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and stay highly organized in a fast-paced environmentMust live within a commutable distance to our future Chicagoland office within the Westerns Suburbs of ChicagoAbility to work remotely at first, then transition to in-officeComfortable learning new systems, processes, and solar/construction terminologyAbility to pass a background checkPreferredExperience supporting teams in construction, trades, field services, or solar installationFamiliarity with scheduling crews, coordinating customer appointments, or supporting project workflowsBasic understanding of solar energy, remodeling, or home improvement industriesProficiency with tools like Energy Toolbase, Helioscope, CRM/Project Management software (training provided)Bachelor’s degree or relevant administrative training is a plus Benefits & PerksCompetitive payPerformance-based bonusesCompany-sponsored incentive trips (Current contest: earn a trip to Australia!)Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding solar companyWork-life balance with remote hybrid flexibility Company DescriptionRenewable Talent Search is a specialized recruiting partner for the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and battery storage talent.
