Job Summary
As the Cabinet Builder/Installer your primary responsibility will be to be building/installing high quality cabinet boxes and drawers in an efficient and timely manner while providing the highest quality of work possible. This role requires the ability to create and maintain an open line of communication between this role and the Production Manager/Lead Cabinet Builder, field technicians, finishers and the General Manager. We ask that you help promote the instituted company culture. This role reports to the Production Manager.
Duties
- Fabricate, build, repair, assemble, disassemble, and clean cabinetry and components
- Can demonstrate proper sanding of solid and veneered wood cabinet surfaces
- Ability to identify wood species, colors, materials, and grain patterns.
- Ensure cabinet components are prepped and ready for the finishing team.
- Proactive approach; identifies and solves problems
- Color matching skillset
- Pocket hole joinery
- Utilize and become proficient in DASH job management system.
- Maintain proper records of duties performed and transactions completed.
- Provide the necessary records to the office for the completion of necessary invoices, records, and reports.
- Assist field technicians with on-site removals, installations, pickups, and deliveries when needed.
- Ensure detailed, specific daily communication with lead technicians, Production Manager, and General Manager
- Ensure documentation coming from technicians and production staff provides you with information to perform your job correctly and well.
- Familiar with and follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized workspace.
- Ability to utilize all cabinet building related equipment and machinery including table saws, miter saws, routers, edge banders, bandsaws, jointers, planers, sanders, power tools, dust collection, etc. and can properly train direct reports on the safe use of the same.
- Keep inventory of materials needed for making cabinets and proactively communicate inventory needs to Production Manager.
- Equally proficient in working in a workshop and in an on-site customer environment.
Requirements
Preferred:
- 5 years building cabinetry, furniture, or other trim carpentry
- Experience in insurance claims, construction, home services, wood working, home building or other similar industries
Required:
- 3 years building cabinetry or furniture or trim
- Experience working with wood working equipment including table saws, miter saws, routers, edge banders, bandsaws, jointers, planers, sanders, power tools, dust collection and other similar equipment.
- Strict adherence to safety
- Extremely attentive to detail
- Extremely organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and can meet strict production deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills
