Maintenance - Holiday Inn Express Paso Robles

The Holiday Inn Express, Paso Robles has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Worker. The basic function of the Maintenance Worker is to assist in the maintenance area. This is a “hands on” job requiring the daily use of a variety of hand and power tools, using caution and protective equipment as needed for each specific job. All work will be coordinated and scheduled by the General Manager.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

1. Applicant should possess general knowledge regarding carpentry, painting, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, drywall, boilers and sprinklers.
2. Applicant should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
3. Applicant must possess fundamental math skills.
4. Applicant must possess personal computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Applicant must be able to reach, bend, stoop throughout the day and lift up to 50 pounds.
6. Applicant must be able to work in a standing position for long period of time.
7. Applicant must have the ability to use, hand-eye coordination, with electric hand tools as well as manual hand tools.
8. Applicant must be able to conduct minor repairs on appliances, such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, TV’s, air conditioning and other system malfunctions. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     a. Know and comply with all health, safety and fire policies and have strong knowledge of state, federal and county regulations in regards to permits, health and safety.*

     b. Responsible to know and comply with Brand Standards and Reneson policies and procedures, such as safety, health and daily operating procedures.*

     c. Responsible to assist in the cleanliness of the building exterior and parking lot.*

     d. Responsible to assist in the maintenance projects, including guest rooms, food service and preparation area, laundry during shifts.*

     e. Responsible to assist in the health and safety of the pool area, including water chemical levels and the safe storage of all related chemicals during shifts.*

     f. Responsible to assist in the ongoing preventative maintenance including guest rooms, food service and preparation area, and laundry.*

     g. Responsible to check out suspicious activity on the property, in conjunction with Management.

TASKS

     a. On a daily basis review the exterior of the property (building and landscaping) to insure cleanliness.

1. Complete all maintenance requests on a timely basis.
2. Complete the in-room Preventative Maintenance in a timely manner.
3. On a daily basis, maintain pool and spa and ensuring that it is safe for guest use by testing chemicals and logging test results twice a day.
4. On a daily basis work closely with other departments to insure a clean and well maintained property.
5. On a regular basis assist in moving furniture, equipment and materials as required.
6. Greet customers and provide quality customer service at every interaction with guests.
7. Perform other related tasks as requested.
