PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS

Assures the guest rooms exceed brand standards for cleanliness and orderliness, and that the housekeeping staff exceed brand standards for friendliness and helpfulness to the guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleans/maintains the cleanliness of guest rooms. The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include the following (other duties may be assigned):

· Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens.

· Make beds and change linens in guest rooms.

· Thoroughly clean bathroom and replaces towels.

· Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.

· Straightens furniture.

· Sweeps, scrubs, and polishes floor.

· Dusts furniture, vacuums floors.

· Spot cleans walls and woodwork.

· Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

· Empty wastebaskets

· Replenishes bathroom supplies.

· Cleans a standard of 16 to 18 rooms per day.

· Reports on maintenance deficiencies.

· Document and secure any items left in the room by guests after checkout

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.

6 months’ housekeeping experience is preferred but not required

Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus!

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Not applicable

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of cleaning guest rooms.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Practice written safety standards and rules at all times. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds.

Job frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, crouching. Must be able to effectively clean guest rooms.

HOURS

Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
