The Programmer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications and systems. This role requires professionalism, effective time management, strong communication skills, technical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve core business systems
• Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions
• Lead meetings and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
• Conduct requirements analysis and provide end-user support for assigned applications
• Liaise with external software vendors as needed
• Ensure all systems and software comply with corporate and departmental standards
• Expertly analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems
• Develop technical specifications and document technical best practices
• Manage change and release management of products, tools and applications
• Document IT processes and procedures
• Handle confidential information with discretion
• Provide backup support for IT team members as required
• Adapt to emerging technologies relevant to organizational systems
• Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; equivalent experience and certifications considered

Experience

• 3 years of professional software development experience
• Experience developing web applications and websites
• Strong experience with database concepts and databases such as MS SQL or Oracle
• Proficiency in the development environment, IDEs, web & application server, GIT
• Experience working with APIs, XML, SOAP, REST, JSON
• Familiarity with Java programming (preferred)
• Exposure to logistics or manufacturing environments is a plus

Technical Skills

• 3–5 years of C# programming (required)
• 2–4 years of JavaScript (required)
• 2–4 years of Python (required)
• SQL, Java, VBA, and VB.NET experience (preferred)
• Experience with JD Edwards, Ford CMMS, GM MGO, RFGen, and SharePoint is beneficial

Intermediate working knowledge of: (Preferred):

• MS Access
• MS Excel
• VBA
• Capable of adapting to new technology that impacts the evolution of the organization’s systems
• Experience with the following systems is helpful, but not required:
• Microsoft Visual Studios
• Java
• ReportsNow DAS
• JD Edwards
• Ford CMMS
• GM MGO
• RFGen
• SharePoint
• iOS Development
