Position OverviewThe Conference Services Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing all convention, meeting, and event functions while ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and detail all aspects of client events, including space setup, timelines, audiovisual needs, menus, décor, and special requests.
- Identify opportunities to upsell services and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Partner with banquet, catering, and hotel teams to ensure flawless event execution.
- Provide hands-on support during events, including setup and breakdown when necessary.
- Prepare banquet event orders, resumes, and related documentation to ensure smooth operations.
- Build strong client relationships and align event goals with hotel offerings and capabilities.
- Anticipate guest needs and quickly resolve concerns to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Monitor event budgets and operational details to maximize revenue while maintaining quality standards.
- Contribute creative ideas for menus, themes, décor, and service enhancements to strengthen the hotel’s competitive position.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication between clients, hotel departments, and external vendors.
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and respond effectively to unexpected challenges.
- Support additional hotel departments as needed based on operational demands.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in conference services, catering sales, or a related hospitality role
- Strong knowledge of catering sales and food & beverage operations preferred
This role requires a hands-on approach and includes frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and carrying event-related equipment and supplies. Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly active environment and communicating effectively with guests, team members, and clients both verbally and in writing.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Additional Information- Schedule flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and additional hours as business demands.
- Some local travel may be required.
- Managers are expected to support overall hotel operations as needed.
Starting salary range: $72,000–$75,000 annually
