What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional/Before School Camp position at Renaissance Academy?
Renaissance Academy is seeking a paraprofessional/before school camp candidate who would enjoy working with in a positive and energetic staff.
Before School Care (7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.)
- Supervision — Ensure children's safety and well-being during the morning hours.
- Activity Planning — Implement age-appropriate activities to engage children.
- Communication — Maintain open lines of communication with parents and school staff.
Paraprofessional (8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)
- Reinforce lessons presented by the lead teacher by working with students individually or in small groups to clarify instructions and review classwork.
- Implement individualized modifications or adaptations for students with special needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Guide student discussions and assist with the completion of homework, tests, and makeup work.
Classroom Management & Student Supervision
- Supervise students across various school environments, including the classroom, hallways, playground, and during transitions.
- Enforce school and classroom rules to maintain a positive, low-distraction learning environment.
- Provide behavioral interventions using approved, district-accepted techniques for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges
