What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at REN Seafoods?
Production Supervisor
Job Purpose: Direct leads activities focusing on production needs by performing the duties listed below or through directing others. Ensure all production activities are met and assume responsibilities when a lead is absent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Direct line leads on production tasks based on daily production.
- Monitor given room on staff attendance, time clock awareness, daily productivity, etc.
- Assists with training new hires. (Includes and is not limited to approving vacation, correcting missed punches, creating schedules, etc.)
- Understand how to build a production plan and where to locate the information.
- Understand how each machine operates and able to give detailed instructions on how to use each machine.
- Assists QA with monitoring product quality, styling of product in trays, product flow, etc.
- Learn and explain the importance of Lean Manufacturing.
- Responsible for double checking the leads and the information entered into the machines.
- Responsible for implementing GMP’s and holding the leads accountable for their actions.
- Responsible for weekly meetings, informing employees of upcoming changes, communicating when goals have been reached and when we need to work on certain goals.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of employment with The REN Group or with a food processing company, preferably in the seafood industry, excellent management skills, verbal and written communications skills, and attitude.
- Basic Math Skills
- Be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day in cold and wet environments.
- Working knowledge of GMP’s, Safety programs, and Lean Manufacturing
- Trained in HACCP and general understanding of Quality Assurance
- Weekend and overtime work as needed.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
