About the Role
Remote Vans is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the design, development, and integration of all electrical systems for our premium adventure vans.
You’ll lead a small, high-performance electrical design team focused on innovation, safety, reliability, and performance — using tools like SolidWorks Electrical, CAN/LIN/Ethernet communication systems, and advanced battery and power-management architectures.
This is a full-time, on-site role at our Cincinnati, Ohio HQ.

Design & Integration
- Lead the design of complete vehicle electrical systems in SolidWorks Electrical or similar CAD tools.
- Create detailed schematics, layouts, and 3D models.
- Select and integrate components such as inverters, batteries, and controllers with focus on safety, performance, and cost.
- Design 12 V / 48 V architectures, lithium-battery systems, and smart-energy management solutions.
- Ensure compliance with RVIA and automotive electrical standards.
Testing & Validation
- Run simulations and validation tests to ensure system performance and safety.
- Analyze test data and iterate designs for continuous improvement.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor engineers and technicians in the Electrical Design Team.
- Partner with mechanical, manufacturing, and service departments for seamless integration.
- Maintain documentation, BOMs, and workflows through PDM/PLM systems.
Project Management
- Manage projects from concept to production, balancing technical quality, budget, and deadlines.
- Identify and implement process improvements for speed and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related).
- Proven experience designing automotive or mobility-scale electrical systems.
- Mastery of SolidWorks Electrical or comparable tools (AutoCAD Electrical, E3.series).
- Strong grasp of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and other communication protocols.
- Familiarity with battery systems, charging, and power-distribution architectures.
- Exceptional leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical design utilizing SolidWorks
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and theories Capacity to effectively collaborate within a team setting
- Outstanding communication abilities and the skill to explain intricate technical details clearly
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
- Proficiency in project management with an emphasis on achieving deadlines and project goals
- Understanding of industry standards and regulations pertaining to electrical design
