Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor payments using financial software such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
- Oversee accounts receivable management, including billing, collections, and cash application to optimize cash flow.
- Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced spreadsheet functions to support financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance by maintaining documentation and supporting audit procedures.
- Assist with payroll management using systems such as ADP or UltiPro, ensuring accurate payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Support corporate accounting functions including tax preparation, governmental reporting, and non-profit accounting if applicable.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry tasks with precision across multiple accounting systems like QuickBooks or Sage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and payroll departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Extensive experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on technical accounting practices.
- Proven expertise in double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience working with financial software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets using Excel data analysis techniques including formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet functions.
- Familiarity with payroll systems (ADP or UltiPro), benefits administration processes, and accounts payable automation tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong communication skills paired with the ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
