Job Summary

Performs a variety of tasks under direction of site operations Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspecting assembled doors, components, parts, applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the department to include up to 5 employees.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Review’s quality assurance  instructions, assembly specifications, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections, sequence of operations, and work assignments.
  • Investigates the root causes of complaints received from installers and customers to  ensure the appropriate corrective actions have been completed and implemented.
  • Manage hold tag and rework process.
  • Ability to write SOPs.
  • Designs and implements standardized quality programs, protocols, and audit procedures to ensure compliance with ISO Standards
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience.
  • R&D and first article inspection/qualification experience.
  • Generate and analyze weekly and monthly quality trend charts
  • Prioritize and manage workload to ensure assignments address the objectives of the company, department, and customers.
  • Oversee and maintain safety practices in accordance with safe operations and in compliance with company policies.
  • Provide training, guidance, and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner.
  • Communicate shift activity to personnel and keep them informed of the changes to equipment, processes, and materials / supplies.
  • Review and approve weekly timesheets for personnel.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and communicate information to senior management.
  • Work with Production to design, implement, and monitor quality awareness and improvement programs.
  • Work closely with peers to develop good team working relationship and cross shift team relationships.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management.

 

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Good PC, Word processing, Power Point and Excel spreadsheet skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, energy and professionalism. As well as trustworthy, respectful, and demonstrate sound work ethics.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communication.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance, approaches, and tools.
  • Experience and working knowledge to include implementation and documentation of robust root cause and corrective action approaches.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule that may include some nights and weekends.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Proficient with MS office
  • ISO Training and Education

Physical Demands

  • Ability to bend, stoop, pick up a minimum of 50 lbs. 
  • Should have good overall dexterity and coordination. 
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. 

 

Work Environment:

The employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures, heights, and loud machinery or equipment.
