Catering Lead

General Definition:              The Catering Team Lead coordinates the general operations of all catering activities in accordance with customer needs based on provided BEOs.

Essential Job Functions:       

• Helps oversee and facilitates all Catering activities and group events as directed. Including set up and tear down.
• Continuously monitors catering activities on all levels. Immediately addresses concerns as they arise.
• Ensures employees are properly oriented to the organization in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Completes any daily/ weekly administrative tasks and reporting as assigned.
• Ensures inventory counts are accurately conducted and recorded at the end of each month.
• Constantly encourages teamwork, professionalism and creativity among staff.
• Maintains proper inventory par levels in accordance with departmental policies. 
• Interacts with personnel and the general public in a professional, ethical manner.
• Contributes to a positive work environment by participating in company and/or employee events and activities.
• Works hours necessary to ensure customer satisfaction, which may include seasonally long hours. 
• Remains on duty until live racing or other entertainment is concluded and any assigned closeout duties or room resets are completed.
• Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.  
• Have the ability to accomplish a multitude of duties as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years of work experience in a similar job-related field.
• Must be knowledgeable in food and beverage sanitation, guest service, and cash control

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Outgoing personality and positive attitude.
• Strong knowledge of bar operations, service procedures, and functions is not required, but a bonus.
• Ability to handle money and operate a cash register quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to listen well, communicate effectively, and follow instructions.
• Ability to interact positively with customers, employees, and management personnel.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and be flexible.
• Ability to lead a small team to complete a specific task.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

Training:      

• Must be able to pass Title 31Training

Licenses/Certifications/Other: 

• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result
• Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Necessary regulatory agency if applicable, to perform the essential job functions
• ABLE License (Liquor)
• Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)
