Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Department Assistant/Runner to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the parts department by ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of parts requests, assisting with inventory management, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Duties
- Assist in the management of parts inventory, including receiving, stocking, and organizing parts for easy access.
- Fulfill orders promptly and accurately, ensuring that all parts are delivered to the appropriate departments or customers.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to assist customers in identifying necessary parts for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the parts department.
- Demonstrate effective negotiation skills when dealing with vendors or customers regarding parts pricing or availability.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
- Delivery/Pickup of Parts as needed to various locations and sites and operating Company Provided Equipment in a Professional and Courteous manner that also follows Company/Federal/State guidelines applicable to operating a Motor Vehicle on Public/Private travelways.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive repair or service is preferred, with dealership experience being a significant advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory management practices, including retail math and order fulfillment processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Valid License with a Clean Driving Record with no Major Accidents or Incidents in the past 3 years , must maintain said record and/or report any Traffic Infractions for both Personal or Company related incidents to Supervisor.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting purposes.
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills to communicate with department leads as needed.
