What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Feasibility & Underwriting position at Remington Hotels?
Role:
The Manager of Feasibility & Underwriting will be responsible for conducting highly detailed financial models to evaluate acquisition, management change, and new development opportunities. The position will work in tandem with the Vice President of Feasibility & Underwriting in leading the analyst team to produce underwriting and financial analysis supported by research and data.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct financial modeling, underwriting, and valuation analysis (i.e.: IRR, cap rate, DCF) of complex deals including full-service and resort assets
- Communicate financial report findings and provide quantitative, data-driven insight to capital partners in the pursuit of potential management contracts
- Have a deep expertise in the major U.S. markets and be comfortable conducting market analyses to understand market trends, key demand generators, and economic indicators to anticipate future growth and opportunities
- Assist with deliverables for pitch decks and RFPs
- Utilize strong time management, organization, and time management skills to deliver assigned underwriting analyses in a timely and accurate manner requiring minimal review and oversight
- Collaborate with the VP of Feasibility and Business Development Team to meet goals and complete projects set by management
- Foster relationships with personnel in other departments
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Finance, or Real Estate
- Strong excel modeling skills – be able to work within an existing model and conduct ad hoc analyses as needed to support underwriting
- Strong, demonstrable oral communication skills, including the ability to present to internal and external audiences
- 3-5 years of experience within the hospitality industry in an analytical function
- Strong knowledge of financial statements and STR reports
- Thorough knowledge of the U.S. Lodging industry including markets, trends, and hotel brands
- Must have the ability to analyze and understand large amounts of complex information, while also crafting and presenting a narrative based on the data
- Must have an analytical and problem-solving mindset that takes ownership of assignments
- Must have the ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
