Position Summary
DoubleTree by Hilton is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to support both restaurant and banquet culinary operations. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality meals for hotel guests, restaurant patrons, meetings, events, and banquet functions while maintaining Hilton standards for food quality, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Production
· Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to established recipes and Hilton brand standards.
· Execute banquet, catering, and restaurant food production while maintaining consistency and quality.
· Prepare food for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events as scheduled.
· Ensure proper portion control, presentation, and plate appearance.
· Assist with daily prep work, station setup, and service execution.
Banquet Operations
· Support banquet functions by preparing large-volume meals efficiently and accurately.
· Coordinate with Banquet Captains, Event Managers, and culinary leadership to meet event requirements and timelines.
· Assist with buffet setup, action stations, and banquet service execution.
· Ensure banquet food is prepared and delivered on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
Kitchen Operations
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
· Properly receive, rotate, label, and store food products following FIFO procedures.
· Monitor product quality and report inventory or maintenance issues to supervisors.
· Minimize food waste through proper handling and storage practices.
Teamwork & Communication
· Work collaboratively with culinary, banquet, and front-of-house teams.
· Assist in training new team members as assigned.
· Support other kitchen areas as business needs require.
· Maintain a positive and professional attitude while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or banquet operation preferred.
· Experience with high-volume banquet production is highly desirable.
· Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper cooking techniques.
· Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
· Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
· Food Handler Certification required or obtainable upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
· Hotel and banquet culinary experience.
· Experience preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet, and catered events.
· Knowledge of banquet plating and buffet presentation standards.
· Ability to work multiple stations including line, prep, and banquet production.
