Vice President of Sales
Location: New York (Hybrid)
We are a privately held U.S.-based wire and cable manufacturer serving distributor, OEM, and project-driven customers across the country. We are seeking a Vice President of Sales who brings a strong manufacturing background and a proven ability to grow revenue by selling manufactured products into and through all channels.
This executive will lead the commercial organization with responsibility for profitable growth, strategic account development, distributor relationships, sales execution, and team performance. The ideal candidate understands how to balance market growth with pricing discipline, margin expectations, production realities, lead times, and cross-functional coordination within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead all sales functions, including inside sales, outside sales, key accounts, and channel development
· Develop and execute a sales strategy that drives profitable revenue growth across distributors, OEM, and project channels
· Manage and strengthen distributor relationships while expanding market penetration for manufactured products
· Partner closely with operations, customer service, and leadership to align customer commitments with production capacity, lead times, and service expectations
· Establish forecasting discipline, pipeline visibility, and CRM accountability across the sales organization
· Drive pricing discipline, margin improvement, and sales mix optimization
· Coach, develop, and hold accountable a geographically distributed sales team
· Identify growth opportunities in existing accounts, new markets, and target channel relationships
Qualifications
· 5 years of progressive sales leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
· Required: experience working for a manufacturer selling products into and through all channels
· Strong preference for experience in wire and cable, electrical, industrial, engineered, or specification-driven products
· Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth, not just top-line volume
· Strong understanding of pricing, margins, forecasting, lead times, and the operational realities of a manufacturing business
· Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and build accountability within a sales organization
· Experience balancing distributor relationships with direct, OEM, project, or specification-based selling is highly valued
· Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in distribution without meaningful manufacturing sales leadership experience are unlikely to be a fit
