Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe to join our team in a flexible hybrid capacity (Part-Time or Full-Time). In this dual role, you will assist providers during in-person clinical days and support medical documentation, patient coordination, and telehealth chart completion remotely.
This position is ideal for experienced MAs/Scribes as well as motivated pre-health students (Pre-PA, Pre-Med, Pre-NP) seeking high-yield clinical exposure and direct patient care hours under direct physician supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn-Clinic Clinical Duties (1 Days/Week In-Person)
- Patient Flow & Vitals: Greet patients, document chief complaints, and update medical histories in the EHR system.
- Clinical Assisting: Assist providers during outpatient physical exams and joint/trigger point injections.
- Clinic Operations: Room patients, maintain clean and stocked examination rooms, and handle room turnover.
Scribing & Remote/Telehealth Support (Hybrid)
- Real-Time Documentation: Accurately capture provider-patient encounters, clinical reasoning, physical exam findings, assessment, and treatment plans in real time.
- Document Preparation: Complete pre-visit document prep for Qualified Medical Examinations.
- Patient Communication: Help schedule and coordinate follow-ups.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 6 months of experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or similar clinical role preferred, but not required.
- In-Person Requirement: Ability to work at least 1 full day per week in-person at one of our SF Bay Area clinic locations (e.g., San Francisco, San Mateo, or Oakland).
- Education & Certifications: College degree; MA Certification not required (preference to candidates with strong scribe/clinical experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, computer efficiency, and fast/accurate typing skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, strong empathy, and professionalism in handling sensitive medical data (HIPAA).
Schedule & Hybrid Structure
- Hours: Flexible (Part-Time or Full-Time)
- 1 to 3 days in-clinic (depending on candidate preference and clinic schedule)
- Remaining days remote assisting with scribing, chart completion, administrative care coordination, and virtual patient outreach.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
