We operate as a team-based, shared tip-pool environment where all staff assist guests, dogs, and each other. All employees are cross-trained and may support front-of-house, back-of-house, and Doggio operations based on volume and daily needs.
We are not just serving food - we are managing a social environment for both people and dogs.

Assistant Manager

Job Summary
The Assistant Manager supports daily operations of The Remedy Dog Bar including restaurant service, bar operations, kitchen execution, and supervision of the dog social yard (“Doggio”). This role ensures a safe, compliant, and high-quality experience for both guests and dogs.
Assistant Managers are fully cross-trained leaders who step into any operational role when needed. This position requires active floor presence and hands-on participation in service, safety monitoring, and team leadership.
This is not a desk management position. The Assistant Manager works directly in the operation alongside the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for increasing sales by providing outstanding product and service
- Providing team members with the appropriate and effective training
- Work lunch, dinner and weekends, monitoring quality of food and service
- Purchase food, beverages and supplies as needed and oversee their preparation to ensure that every product served meets our high standards of product quality
- Execute all systems daily to ensure a clean, organized restaurant prepared to deliver quality food and excellent guest service
- Utilize all management tools to keep neat, accurate and current records providing the Historical data plan for increased sales and profit
- Operate in accordance with the established performance, profits and operating standards as set out in the operation manuals
- Understanding all aspects of the rules, protocols, and safety regulations of The Remedy Dog Bar and the Doggio ensuring these responsibilities are upheld and maintained at all times
- Have a good working knowledge of all equipment which includes proper actions for all maintenance issues and maintaining duties on the monthly list of a unit
- Maintain high standards of service throughout the operational day by demonstrating leadership by example
- To ensure that all team members are fully knowledgeable of the policies and procedures by constantly asking questions, testing and monitoring their performance and giving timely feedback
- Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm and a positive mental attitude and commitment toward company objectives. Create and Encore Environment
- Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
- To assist in the interviewing process and making decisions to pursue a second interview with the Management Team
- Supervise and motivate Team Members to perform to their highest possible level of ability
- Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed
- Extend a warm and friendly greeting to all guests and dogs upon arrival when necessary
- Explain menu items and answer product question as raised by guests when necessary
- Understanding of how the Doggio works (rules, supervision, waivers)
- Perform such other duties as directed by Management and the Training Manager
- Complete all side work which includes various cleaning tasks
- Maintain restaurant and table cleanliness and patio sanitation
- Help run drinks/food for teammates when needed
- Reset seating areas and assist with bussing
- Assist in closing and opening duties
- Support bartenders, hosts, servers, line cooks and Doggio staff during high volume when necessary
- Communicate openly, timely, and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress, and problems
- Always be approachable, coachable and have a good positive attitude
Required Skills & Abilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong guest service personality
- Comfortable interacting with dogs of all sizes
- Ability to multitask in a loud, fast environment
- Team-oriented mindset
- Conflict-resolution skills (guest and dog situations)
Physical Requirements
- Standing/walking for long periods
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
- Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
- Working outdoors in heat or cold
- Exposure to barking dogs and busy patio environments
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
o Making observations
o Communicating with others
o Reading and writing
