Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Telemedicine Mid-Level Provider is responsible for delivering high-quality mental and behavioral health care through virtual platforms. This role includes the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a range of behavioral health conditions via telehealth. The provider will collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health evaluations through secure telemedicine systems.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management, psychotherapy, and patient education.
- Monitor treatment progress, adjust care plans, and provide follow-up care as clinically indicated.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity between telehealth and in-person services.
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state licensure regulations, and organizational policies.
- Participate in clinical case reviews and continuing education to maintain professional competency.
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with active and unrestricted license in the state of practice (multi-state licensure preferred).
- Certification in Psychiatry or Behavioral Health highly preferred (PMHNP certification for NPs).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, or related clinical setting.
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and EMR systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport via virtual care.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and substance use management.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and culturally competent practice.
- Comfort working with diverse populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
