What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator position at Rema Tip Top?
JOB SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:
The position will be responsible for producing finished goods for shipment.
POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK:
Full-Time Non-Exempt
8 hours per day / 40 hours per week / Monday – Friday. Overtime available when business needs dictate
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Ensure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met.
- Follow all outlined processing specifications, understanding and achieving all quality requirements.
- Work in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety guidelines and requirements.
- Read and understand labels on totes.
- Oversee fill, measure and weigh all product to specification.
- Read scales.
- Label products correctly.
- Prepare products for shipment.
- Meet all production standards; perform work in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Accurately complete work order paperwork on a daily basis.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Clean work area at the conclusion of each shift.
- Regular attendance according to schedule.
- Follow all Company policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Weight Lifting and Carrying:
- Frequently lifts or carries objects weighing 10–25 pounds
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
- May involve assistance or mechanical aids for heavier loads
- Standing and Walking:
- Frequent standing and walking are required, often for extended periods
- Walking on concrete floors, between workstations, or across large production areas
- Pushing and Pulling:
- May involve pushing/pulling carts, bins, machinery components, or other items up to 50 pounds
- Bending, Stooping, and Twisting:
- Regular bending and stooping to handle materials or access lower work surfaces
- Twisting while using tools or assembling parts
- Manual Dexterity:
- Requires good hand-eye coordination for handling tools, machine parts, or small components
- May include tasks like assembly, packing, or machine operation
- Repetitive Motions:
- Jobs may involve repetitive motions of hands, wrists, arms, or shoulders for prolonged periods
- Environmental Factors:
- Exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and moving machinery
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) safety glasses and steel toe shoes. Additional PPE may be required not listed above.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
