Job Title: Controller (Temporary – Potential for Direct Hire)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Temporary (2–3 Months, Potential to Convert to Full-Time)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller for a 2–3 month temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a full-time, direct hire role. This position plays a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting leadership with strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts; analyze variances and recommend corrective actions
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, and inventory
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
- Lead external audit processes and serve as the primary liaison with auditors
- Monitor daily cash flow, manage collections, and ensure financial obligations are met
- Reconcile intercompany accounts as needed
- Supervise and support accounting staff to ensure efficient department performance
- Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis and support business decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller experience
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred
- CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Proven leadership and team management experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is primarily based in an office environment. Occasional time may be spent in production or warehouse areas with varying temperatures, wet conditions, and moderate noise levels. Candidates must be able to perform standard office duties and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
