SUMMARY

The position of Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a branch office, including operations, product sales, customer service and security and safety in accordance with the bank’s objectives. They provide a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through guidance and staff motivation, achieving individual and branch sales initiatives through new business sales, referrals and retention of account relationship. Provides leadership, training and supervision and delegates the day-to-day operations of branch personnel.

 

Duties will be performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers.
  2. Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
  3. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
  4. Perform as a team member in allocation and coordinating the work flow.
  5.  Trains new employees and answers co-worker questions.
  6. Will be involved in ordering, receiving, verifying and distributing cash.
  7. Operates a teller’s window to serve the bank’s customers by:
  • Accepting retail and commercial deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and giving customers their receipts.
  • Identifying customers and cashing checks and savings withdrawals.
  • Accepting checking and savings deposits.
  • Verifying customer signatures.
  • Providing additional customer services including Cashier’s Checks, Money Orders, etc.
  • Balances cash drawer daily.
  • Accepts payments for all loans.
  • Accepts wire transfer information.
  1. Responsible for bank opening/closing.
  2. Opens new accounts and admits customers to safe deposit boxes.
  3. Responsible for maintaining new account and BSA exceptions at the acceptable level approved by management for themselves and their branch staff.
  4. Open and close vault and night deposit.
  5. Promotes the bank’s products and services; consistently cross-sells bank products at every opportunity.
  6. Makes a concentrated effort to solve customer problems.
  7. Follows teller over/short policy.
  8. Provides work schedules for assigned personnel.
  9. Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.
  10. Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes working environment free of harassment of any type; builds a diverse workforce and supports affirmative action. 
  11. Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values; benefits the bank through outside activities.
  12. Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions.  The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one’s own actions and conduct.

SECONDARY DUTIES

The position of Branch Manager performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Branch Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Branch Manager and other branch operations personnel at their location.


ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The employee is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.  The position includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 5% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts.  It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. 

The employee in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

The employee for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, beeper, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, microfilm equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card terminal, typewriter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • High school diploma; 5 years of operations or deposit related experience.
  • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in retail/operational activities, terminology and products and services.
  • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
  • Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple employees.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • Current Arkansas driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
