Project Overview
NYC DSS is executing a large-scale Data Center Co-location and Migration Project focused on infrastructure modernization, risk mitigation, and improved system performance. This initiative involves consolidating multiple data centers and migrating systems to a new facility.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and consolidate application inventories across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) for applications
Create and standardize technical documentation including runbooks, architecture docs, and security artifacts
Prepare firewall rules and validate infrastructure components
Establish documentation standards and governance processes
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams
Ensure compliance, accuracy, and audit readiness of all documentation
Required Skills
7 years of experience in technical writing within enterprise IT/infrastructure environments
Strong understanding of DEV, QA, PROD environments
Experience with BOMs, system architecture documentation, and runbooks
Knowledge of networking concepts (IP, ports, protocols, firewalls)
Experience with security/compliance documentation
Familiarity with ITIL processes and governance frameworks
Proficiency in MS Office, Visio, Confluence/SharePoint
Nice To Have
Government or public sector experience
Exposure to data center migration or cloud environments
